ReVision Energy is ReVision Energy, a certified B Corporation, was established in 2003 as a full-service renewable energy contracting company that provides engineering, design, installation, and service for homes, businesses, municipalities, and non-profits. Our company’s roots were set in 1972 when ReVision founder William W. Behrens III co-authored The Limits to Growth, a seminal text of the environmental movement that has since sold more than 12 million copies. Bill later co-founded Belfast-based The Green Store in 1993, where he designed, sold and installed solar components for customers across Maine. Increasing solar demand led to the establishment of EnergyWorks in 2003 at our current location in Liberty. In 2006 a second location was opened in Portland and our name was changed to ReVision Energy; branches have since been established in Brentwood, NH (2010), Concord, NH (2015), and Middleton, MA (2016). Since 2003, ReVision Energy has designed and installed more than 5,200 renewable and efficient energy systems across northern New England, completed five Solarize campaigns, and is ranked by Solar Power World magazine as the 136th top rooftop solar installer in the nation and is Solar Review’s 14th highest-rated solar installer in the US.
Since our founding, ReVision has 84 installed solar systems across MDI, 56 of which are solar electric arrays. These include high-profile PV installations at College of the Atlantic, Maine Coast Heritage Trust, the Town of Bar Harbor Public Works, and Thurston’s Lobster Pound. ReVision also designed and constructed MDI’s first community solar farm in 2016.
